Smoke or Steam

People who think that cooling towers on power stations are giving off smoke. Come on! It’s steam. Look at the stupid tall Chimney that’s got the darker stuff coming out. You people; that’s the smoke!

This picture shows what i’m talking about. Steam, it’s Steam coming from those towers on the left hand side. The only bad stuff comes from the towers on the right. (NOTE: There’s not much coming out of them)
The stuff on the left is steam, anything coming out of the taller towers on the right is 'smoke'
OK, so this picture is a little set-up, with the wildlife in the front, but it was the only good picture i could find of a power station. I guess people don’t normally take pictures of power stations.

I think pedantically it’s water vapour. Steam (normally transparent/invisible) only exists at much higher temperatures at a pressure of 1 atmosphere.
