Hiking at Rancho

So clear today, with views all the way up to San Francisco and Oakland, plus San Jose in the other direction.

Cycling into work again

I finally got around to cycling into work again.   Now that I live slightly further way and on a different route it should have taken longer.  However, this morning I managed a sub-30 minute time.

Looking at more wedding venues

Today we looked at more venues for our wedding.  Garden Court Hotel, Four Seasons, Sheraton, Westin and Stanford Park hotels in Palo Alto.  My personal favorite of the day was Garden Court Hotel.   It’s a lot larger than I thought.

Dinner at Los Altos Grill

Rather than cook at home we met up with Nikki’s parents at Los Altos Bar & Grill.  The place was packed with families who appeared to be doing the same.   Now, I’ve been there a lot recently and have been getting hooked on the Prime Rib sandwich.  However, for a change I had the Bangers and Mash.  It’s really nice, the sausages are well seasoned and exceptionally large.

Go Giants

Work had arranged a team outing to a Giants game with tailgating before.

This was a great work event, we sat on the trolley car on the far side of the stadium with beers.  I couldn’t tell you the final score as we left just before the end to head over to Zeitgeist for more drinks.  Of course we couldn’t take the company provided travel home so we finally got the train at about 11pm.  More photos

Visiting Carmel with my parents

Amazingly it’s the first time I’d been down to Carmel.  Nikki thought it would be nice for my parents to visit there again.  We had a nice lunch, walk on the beach and then drive down to Big Sur.

Parents visiting

My parents finally came to visit again

We took them everywhere on this trip, easy bay, Santa Cruz, Carmel, Big Sur, Palo Alto, Mountain View.  They also took a few days to head down to the rain in San Diego.   It worked out that their last day here was also Mothering Sunday so we went to Trader Vics for brunch.
