Database Corruption

I’ve been experiencing some troubles with my blog.

Broken SQL

Broken SQL

The mySQL database that backs all of this got corrupt. Of course the backup wasn’t working right and I lot a lot of content, passwords, etc. So if you try to log in and need to reset your password, that’s why. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Bunch of time-wasters

Mike Harvey Honda called me to say they could offer me a good price for my Scion. Even with asking if they were going to offer me trade-in pricing and they said no, they got me down there to offer me basically auction price.

The manager was insulting, telling me about the economy and how credit is hard. No apology for his staff lying to me and wasting my time.

San Jose Spartans

We joined some of Nikki’s old friend at San Jose State for a Football game.

Unfortunately they lost but I’m beginning to understand the game.

Achieving Transitive Closure

Day 3 in Avila Beach

Starting with another 3 mile run along the coast, packing up our things before heading for Brunch at The Cliffs Resort in Pismo Beach. Then on the way home we stopped in Salinas to see the Steinbeck museum. To finish the day, and the final round of Nikki’s birthday celebrations with dinner at her parents house.

Is this really November?

Is this really November? I sat on the beach in 90F heat, ran on shorts and shirt at 8 am and was too hot and went to dinner without theneed for a jacket or umbrella. All this, only 180 miles from home, you could not have got better weather in Hawaii. I’m beginning to understand why some Americans never leave their state.

The amazing Boxee

I have recently got into the Alpha test of Boxee. This is the amazing new Media Center interface for the Mac. However, the most amazing thing that there’s also a version that runs on AppleTV.

Hulu on Boxee

Hulu on Boxee

This means you can now watch Hulu video on demand through AppleTV. Of course there’s all the other cool things like DivX playback. Given that it’s an alpha release there’s still a few bugs that need to be worked out, but it’s looking amazing so far.

Bud? Something is very wrong!

I had to buy it, Budweiser American Ale.

It’s a good job I’m going back to England at Christmas as my taste in beer must be fading. This Bud Ale isn’t half bad. Did I say that? really? I need to do some research to see if this is a new InBev idea.

Darrell coaching at Fremont High School

Tara’s husband Darrell is coach for a high school football team in Fremont, so we went along to give him support. Unfortunately, we’re not very good mascots and his team lost.
