Last night I went to a presentation by David Patterson on the future of computing in the new age of multi-core CPUs. The presentation was given at Xerox Parc, Palo Alto, which has always been somewhere I’ve wanted to visit.
I was by far the youngest person in the room and obviously lacking a beard. There were people from way back in the “good old” processor design days and lots of researches from Stanford. While it was interesting there was little to take away that could be applied on todays multi-core processors.
