New Phone – Samsung D600E

I’ve just got myself a new phone. After a long time of switching between my Sony Ericsson T610i and P910i it has come time to get something better. My phone of choice, Samsung’s D600E. This phone includes everything you could want, including an amazing 2MP camera (with flash).

Since I didn’t want to get a new contract (lets face it I’ve only for 3 months left in the UK) the only reasonable way to get a phone was to win one off eBay. After 2 days of being out voted at the last minute my trigger finger was ready. This time I was the winner, only 12 GBP over the budget I’d set myself for the final frenzy of bidding.

The phone is excellent. The camera is one of the main features I wanted. Expect much better pictures from my phone featured on this blog soon. I’ve got 256MB T-Flash in the phone there there’s more than enough space for photos.

The D600E has a very similar interface to that found on the P910i it’s very easy to use. Today I’ve taken the phone out in sunlight and it appears to be quite visible (assume there’s a light colored wallpaper).

The only downside to this phone is that it doesn’t work with Apple’s iSync, so I’ve had to get OnSync which isn’t quite as good. Hopefully iSync will get support for Samsung phones soon. Still the phone can be used as a serial connection over with USB or Bluetooth. File browsing and sending works seamlessly with my MacBook Pro, which is more than could be said for my old P910i.
