Wow, Jon, I’m glad you’re getting to see all the cool parts of California!
I’m not sure Bodie deserves to be called a “49ers western adventure” unless it’s changed a lot since I last visited. After all, it is an abandoned town that’s 20 miles off the highway along dirt roads. (Okay, one road in was paved, but the other road was still dirt) It’s still in the state it was when everyone left in the 1930’s.
I don’t remember any fast food there, either. In fact, I don’t remember anything there apart from the ranger. If you head up there in the late fall, you can easily be the only people in that valley. Visiting on a day like that when winter’s approaching can be verrry spooky.
