My name is Jon Andrews, I’m a 30 years old and live in Mountain View, California – USA, before that I lived in Manchester, UK for 9 years.
Born in Runcorn but moved to the quite dull town of Bognor Regis where I grew up. I finally escaped the world of retirement homes to move to back up north to attend The University of Manchester. This gave me some of the best experiences and times of my life, not to mention some incredible friends. After 3 years I graduated with a First class honours degree in Computer Engineering (BSc). Fast forwarding a few years and I had been working for the same company (Transitive) for 5 years, leading the effort to deliver the technology behind Rosetta. I never thought I’d do that. The company taught me a lot and gave me some fantastic experiences. This included spending a lot of time in California, as well as visiting other parts of the United States (include New York). One of the best trips however was to Japan and being able to see a completely different culture. I’ve worked for Apple Inc since 2006 (in Cupertino, California) as an Engineer Manager on Kernel Technologies for consumer products. In 2009 I married Nikki at our amazing wedding in Mountain View & Palo Alto.
