Drinks after rehearsal dinner
Work Beer Bash
We had an American Idol themed beer bash at work today. Apparently some woman from American Idol, Brook White, was the big attraction. She didn’t seem that good to me. But, it was really nice to see us making use of the lawn with everyone around. For the first time at a beer bash it felt like being at a party.
Quick trip to SF to with Matt & Sal
We made a quick post mothers day lunch trip up to SF to meeting up with Matt & Sal. Unfortunately I took the Z4, which was two short of the required number of seats. (Sorry Matt and Sal, i feel really bad).
Matt & Sally visit for dinner
Matt & Sally, the first of my friends to visit since moving here, came round for a BBQ and drinks. Having just flown in they lasted until 11:30, very impressive.

Planning the ultimate road trip
As the GumBall 3000 draws to a close, I’m thinking about planning a road trip/rally of my own. What better way to get a group of friends to have fun and see the amazing landscape of America. The idea originally came to me last year when driving up highway 395 from Palm Springs to Lake Tahoe. This was an epic journey, but still not as inpiring at the Sonora Pass trip the year before that.
So, what would it take? Well, of course you’d need a good car. My Z4 Coupe should work nicely for that. Then some extra equipment:
- A navigator
- Radar Detector
- GPS (built in)
- iPhone tracking and telemetry app (check!)
- Some chargers for all of the above (check!)
- Two way radios
- Windscreen camera mount (check!)
- Digital Camcorder (i have one but it’s not very good)
- Digital SLR, for those vista shots (check!)
That seems about all you’d need. Oh, perhaps some roadside coverage and maybe temporary logos on the cars, GumBall style.
Anyway interested in signing up?
