Out for dinner and non-drinks

Out with Rudi, her friend Kim from Portland and Nate for dinner at Mio Vicino.   Despite still not drinking we then headed off to San Jose for a drink (or non-drink) in my case at O’Flaherty’sphoto.jpg

Mavericks & San Jose Car Show

This Saturday we packed a lot in, first off, over to Half Moon Bay for the Mavericks surf competition followed by a trek down to San Jose for the San Jose International Motor Show.p1030626_2.jpgMavericks surf competition is one of the world leading and most challenging events and I can see why. The waves break over a ledge and onto a reef with only a small area clear of rocks.p1030642.jpgThe San Jose motor show isn’t a huge event, it’s more a room with lots of cars in than your full on motor show with big stands and women draped over cars. However, they did have a concept version of the soon to go into production Camero as well as an Audi R8 (wow that’s a nice car). What better way to finish off the day than with a trip to Original Joe’s, San Jose, and then watching movies at home.

Transitive guys back in town

The Transitive guys were back in town today.  Most of them had been Snowboarding up in the amazing conditions during the last week.  They (Paul, Richard, Gav and Gareth) took the time out to meet up at Bobbies for lunch before catching the flight home.  Clearly I didn’t have enough of my old colleagues as we also had dinner at King of Krung in Mountain View.

Visiting Dave in SF

My school friend Dave was in town visiting his sister (and other friends).   We all met up in Fishermans Wharf for at the Crab House.  It’s been nearly two years since I’ve seen Dave but it was like it was yesterday.  After a spot of lunch we headed back to his sisters flat to chill out and catch up some more.  It’s nice to have friends pop into town now and then.  Hopefully next time Dave will give me a bit more notice and we’ll be able to spend longer visiting.

Oh no, not rain!

There’s a heavy rain storm in the bay area this morning.  The news is full of how bad it is, warning locals to “not drive unless absolutely necessary”, “situation is getting worse every minute”.  It’s amazing how much California’s fall apart with a little drop of rain.  Okay, this is a little more than normal in that there’s 3″ in 24 hours.  It’s probably due to global warming 😉

UPDATE: So it’s a little worse than I made out, it’s been raining for 2 days now, some people haven’t had power in over a day. In England this would just be brushed off as a usual storm.

Change of Style

I’ve decided to loose the old style (Flex) and replace it with a simple K2 theme.  Hope you like the new look.

New Years Eve

With New Years Eve approaching fast I couldn’t decide what to do. We settled on going to Rudi’s for dinner and drinks. Something mellow but a lot of fun!

Here’s me, clearly drunk by midnight.
