I’m moving my jaywalk.co.uk domain over to the same server as Jaywalk.net. This might result in a loss of connection, emails bouncing for a short time. If this happens or you couldn’t get to this site, it’s entirely expected.
Update:The domain has been moved, even with Bluehost having a script to move the domain which thought that ‘ns1.bluehost.com’ and ‘NS1.BLUEHOST.COM’ were actually different!
My Scion tC has had the service light on for about 1000 miles now. With my parents gone home it seemed like a good time to take it in. As luck would have it Toyota of Sunnyvale sent me a 10% discount coupon. They are also open until 9pm! So I dropped the car off at 7pm and went for dinner. Just after paying the bill at a nice little Italian restaurant in downtown Sunnyvale my phone rang. My car was ready! Having left work at 6:30, by 9pm I was home having eaten and had my car serviced. Can’t get much better than that!
Last night we surprised my Dad by taking him to a Willie Nelson concert at The Fillmore in San Francisco. It was quite a concert, despite not starting until close to 9pm he was on stage until nearly 11. Not bad for someone in their 70s.
Unforuntely there’s no photography so I didn’t take my camera (apparently everyone else ignored this). However, I took a usless video with my phone.
Bad back, pain killers and some courage got me to the start line of the Los Gatos Great Run. The course was from Saratoga to Los Gatos along highway 9.
Official times are in:
John Andrews – Position 319 – Time 31:29 – Mile Rate 7.52
Jonathan Andrews – Position 349 – Time 31.53 – Mile Rate 7.58
As you can see my Dad beat me by only 24 seconds, so close! The course was much harder than I’d expected, with a long gentle hill between mile markers 2 and 3.
Pictures to follow
Not Guns n’ Roses but rather Grand National Rodeo @ Cow Palace
This was my second visit, and Nikki’s first. My parents had never experienced anything like this and thankfully found the event, plus the people, very entertaining.

Friday the 13th didn’t bring me much joy. This morning when getting out of the shower I felt something pull in my back. As the morning went on it got tighter and tighter. By noon it felt like someone was hitting me repeatedly in the back with an axe. After a sleep, painkillers, heat pack and muscle cream it’s not better. Please, Please let this be better tomorrow. I’m supposed to be running in the Los Gatos Great Race on Sunday, not a chance if this keeps up.
I’m so pleased I got an H1-B visa last year, when they ran out in just over a month. This year they have gone in only 3 days!
USCIS says that it received 150,000 applications for 65,000 H-1B visa slots on Monday, April 2, when the process officially began…
We we’re up in San Francisco for Debbie’s 30th birthday this weekend. More text soon.
I’ve been out running again tonight. It’s so much nicer running out in the sun than in the dark evenings with a head-torch. Tonight I ran my 5.3k route in 27 minutes, this isn’t really an impressive time. That is, however, a full 4 minutes better than last week. My parents are coming over soon and my Dad is a keen runner. We’re thinking of entering the Los Gatos Great Run. It’s a nice 4 mile run. Only problem is, my Dad will easily show me up with him faster time!
For months now we’ve been meaning to go to the Farmers Market in Mountain View. Something else always comes up, or by the time we realize it’s already finished. This weekend we actually made it.
Well – this is the sign. I assume it’s for farmers who are “certified” and not “certified farmers”. In my opinion there’s quite a difference.

Unfortunately I couldn’t go to see the Liverpool match at the Rose and Crown this weekend. Despite wearing my Liverpool shirt things conspired against me.
For the last few weeks there’s either been something going on, or I’ve heard the result before the match was screened. So this weekend I carefully avoided the BBC news, my parents telling me the score and watching FSC. However, my phone rang about noon, it was work. They had a problem that needed my attention. Perhaps next weekend!
