Beard Update

Its gone. I got annoyed of it so decided to remove it this morning. Amazing how much younger I looked when I’d removed it.

Beard update

Well, it’s been about a week of growing. I appear to not be very good at this whole beard growing thing as progress has been slow.

Also, my girlfriend is going to be in town next week, so towards the end of this week it’s going to be moved. We’ll see if it makes a graceful come back.

Liverpool in FA Cup Final

I’m very today. Liverpool made it through to the FA Cup Final. In another break from the norm, I put 2 bets on. The first being Luis Garcia to score the first goal (11/1), the other for Liverpool to win 2-1 (10/1). A nice little return for sitting on the sofa drinking beer.

Bring on the Final on May 13th! Shame it’s not at Wembely.

Fancy Car, short 50 quid?

I’ve noticed a worry trend recently. There are lots of people driving around in expensive cars, Aston Martins, BMWs, Mercs, etc, who talk on their phones without headsets. I wonder if they are paying so much for the cars that they can’t afford a 50 quid bluetooth headset. Either that or they think that because they’re in a flash car they’re exempt. Worst still, these people are driving very badly and sometimes dangerously while on the phones. The police were supposed to be clamping down on this!

Bolton

Excellent night out in Bolton last night. Booze, Booze and more Booze. I was truly amazed by the number of bars and people out in Bolton. Will definitely have to go out there again.
In one of the bars there was a sign saying ‘Cash Machine’ but under it was a fruit machine. Funny idea of a cash machine.
Cash Machine?
Bad picture, but it clearly shows the fruit machines displaying ‘Cash’!

Bullseye

Bullseye is to return to British TV this year. “Lets see what you could have won!” The show will air on April 17th, now on ChallengeTV but still with the legend that is Tony Green. However, Jim Bowen will not be hosting the show. Instead it will be hosted by Dave Spikey of Phoenix Nights fame.
.

According to the news:

Bullseye originally aired on ITV from 1981 to 1995 and, in its prime, was watched by as many as 15 million viewers on a Sunday evening.

Right….I’m off to set the Tivo!

Drive to London and back

In 12 hours! This is what I did today. For a 2 hour meeting in London. The drive wasn’t as bad as I had expected. Basically a 6:30am start and then back home by 6:30pm.

Driving on the M42

The weather was really good going down, but coming back the rain was really bad. Against all the odds it was sunny in Manchester. Who would have thought it!

Positive Day

I feel as though I’m coming into a new period in my life. For a while now the blinds and curtains in my house have remained closed during the day. There has been little reason to open them as I was either at work or it was dark outside. Now the clocks have gone forward there’s more daylight. Today they’re all open, my house has been cleaned from top to bottom. It really looks and feels like a home agin. This all comes at the time when I’m about to start a new job, working from home. I could not be in a happier mood.
Add to that, a full fridge and cupboard with healthy food. Who could want more?
The only shine off the day was a random hailstorm which resulted in nearly the entire street standing in their doorways looking on in horror.

Homeworking Project

It occurred to me recently that working from home for 6 months is a once in a lifetime opportunity to try growing a beard. I’m still not sure if I’m going to do it but it’s an idea. I’ll see how lazy I get with the razor 🙂

Finished Work

Well I’ve now finished working for Transitive. As a bit of leaving party we all went to Sinclairs Oyster bar and then on to Tribecca. This was closely followed by a trip to Mughli. Naturally, today I feel terrible.

Peak District Pirates

This weekend was a nice get away with old friends from University. We’d hired 4 cottages for a total of 20 people in a nice little place called Darwin Lakes. They were amazing new cottages complete with all the mod cons you could ask for. The weekend was a chance to get away and have some fun walking as well as an evening of fancy dress fun as Pirates.

View over the Peak District

Saturday morning was a nice walk out in the peaks with a stop off for lunch followed by another walk back to the cars in the afternoon.
