iPod Pollution

Now that the world has been taken over by iPod (not that I’m saying that’s a bad thing) I’ve noticed that peoples music patterns have changed. Now when you’re in a relationship and someone lends you some music or you’re going on a trip it’s not a cassette or a CD, it gets loaded on your iPod. This means that my iPod is now becoming a historical record of my friends (and girlfriends) tastes in music mixed in with my music.

So you might think that you can just delete the song. It really isn’t that easy as the iPod doesn’t allow you to delete music. You’ve got to wait until you get back to iTunes when you can delete the song and sync back up with your iPod. Continually I find myself on a plane with my iPod on shuffle listening to music I never intended having on there.

Today we carry a constant reminder of times in our life, images and memories brought back by a song that perhaps I didn’t even like in the first place. The flip side to this of course is that some of the music brings back such happy memories.

Maybe one day you’ll be able to delete songs off your iPod on the move.
