More Rally Planning

2010 will be the year of my Gumball like rally, that I’ve previous talked about.

  • 3 days long, probably Saturday to Monday so we don’t have to deal with Friday traffic.
  • Limited to 6 cars
  • One driver and one passenger per car

There’s are two possible routes.  The first is 560 miles out to Tom’s Place on 395, over the amazing Sonora pass.

Finally found a car

Today I sold my Scion and provisionally signed for Z4. It will be certified pre-owned but isn’t quite ready so I could not drive it. Wednesday/Thursday should be collection and final delivery day.

oooh, a Z4 Coupe

New Years Eve Eve

Up in SF with Forest and Betty’s New Years Eve Eve party. Betty had rush ordered caviar and prepared other amazing appetizers.

Later on we headed over to Local Kitchen, a new restaurant that has amazing wine selections and fancy pizzas.
Thanks Forrest and Betty!

80’s Party and Laeres Birthday

Two parties in one evening and a drunk Jon. The evening began about 7pm in San Jose for Tamara’s birthday party. She’s mad on the 80’s so we had to come in 80’s dress. To get over my shame I started drinking.

Aaaah! Pitchers of Stella, Sun and Friday evening, could I be happier? Oh yes I could, with C-130‘s taking off from Moffett over the bar, my evening was set!

The trouble with glass

When in Half-moon bay today I noticed a poster for a truck, nothing unusual there. However, look at the picture, the advert has tear off strips with a phone number yet it inside a locked glass cabinet.

TomTom adds Buddies

TomTom has announced Buddy support for their GPS navigation devices. This appears to be a IM and location system.

Seems that stalkers and suspicious wives now have all the tools they need. While driving to that secret rendezvous remember, someone could be watching you. 😉

El Rego

Last night I went to The Register’s US launch party as The Tiedhouse in Mountain View.

There was a very good turnout from local companies, mainly engineers or PR people. As usual at any Register event, drinking beer was the primary activity. I really didn’t know how large El Rego had got since its modest beginnings. They’ve got something like 25 staff in the UK and a growing in the bay area.
